Job Summary

Bell & Evans is looking for dependable and hardworking individuals to join our Live Operations team as  Chicken Catchers . In this role, you will be responsible for safely and humanely catching chickens to ensure the processing plant has a consistent supply to meet production needs. Team members play a critical role in upholding our commitment to animal welfare, food safety, and product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Catch chickens safely and efficiently to support daily production requirements.
• Take a proactive role in ensuring safe, high-quality products by immediately reporting any safety or quality concerns.
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to animal welfare.
• Handle birds in accordance with Bell & Evans' humane handling standards.
• Adhere to all company biosecurity protocols to protect flock health.
• Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform duties in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Work scheduled shifts of 8–10 hours or longer as needed, with approximately 8 hours dedicated to catching operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Up to three months of related work experience or training is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills and Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to animal welfare, food safety, and quality standards.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Reliable attendance and dependability.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a physically demanding environment with frequent exposure to:

• Wet and humid conditions.
• Dust, fumes, and airborne particles.
• Outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Moderate noise levels.
