Location: BOEC Adaptive program office – Breckenridge

Position Summary

The Sr. Program Coordinator works closely with the Program Director and Assistant Director to ensure effective management and operation of the BOEC Adaptive Ski and Snowboard Program which operates at Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Arapahoe Basin Ski Resorts. The Sr. Program Coordinator will oversee all adaptive equipment including maintenance and program readiness and will support the overall program operations. The Sr. Program Coordinator should have a passion for the BOEC mission and the participants who come to realize their own potential through participation in our programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Operations

• Works with program management on daily supervision of ski instructors, interns, and volunteers at the ski program office.
• Supports on-hill supervision of adaptive ski lessons, staff, interns, and volunteers.
• Assists with general ski office duties as needed including answering phones, taking reservations, assisting with financial transactions (POS systems), staff scheduling and daily usage of the Salesforce database.
• Supports wilderness courses and special events related to the BOEC or the Adaptive Ski Program as needed, working in collaboration with the Wilderness Program, Course Directors, Keystone Management, Volunteer Coordinator, and Ski Program Director.

Equipment Management

• Manage equipment rooms at Breckenridge and Keystone; oversee maintenance of adaptive ski equipment in coordination with the Program Director.
• Train staff and interns on adaptive ski & snowboard equipment use and equipment room policies & procedures.
• Maintain and repair adaptive ski equipment throughout the season.
• Track equipment usage and maintenance in the Salesforce database.
• Maintain organization of equipment rooms

Training and Development

• Assist program management in training staff and interns on adaptive ski techniques during early-season and continuing education throughout winter season.
• Supervise instructors under guidance from program management
• Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator and program team to coordinate and /or lead early-season volunteer clinics and support mid-season continuing Education.
• Assist Intern Manager in implementing and overseeing the intern mentorship program.
• Train staff and interns on equipment checkout procedures and submitting maintenance requests in Salesforce.
• Teach adaptive ski lessons and/or provide on-hill supervision as needed.

Position Information and Benefits:

• This is a full-time, exempt seasonal exempt position with the following benefits: employee paid time off (PTO), employee assistance program, employee professional development opportunities, equipment stipend, pro-purchase program and employee ski pass.
• Monthly salary range is $3,750-$4,580 per month DOE.
• This position requires both indoor office work as well as outside work on the mountain. This position will be based primarily out of our Breckenridge ski office with occasional time spent at the Keystone office.
• Typical schedule is five days per week, with occasional involvement in programs or special events outside of those times or in various locations as needed.
• This position requires being physically active and being able to lift at least 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Requirements

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Current PSIA Adaptive Level II certification or ability to obtain within the first year of employment.
• Prior experience teaching adaptive skiing; strong skiing or snowboarding skills required.
• Advanced knowledge & training of adaptive ski equipment is required, including the ability to perform high-level maintenance and maintain beneficial vendor relationships in order to stay current on new technologies and knowledge.
• Experience supervising staff and instructors; strong interpersonal, customer service and leadership skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral, in English. Proficiency in another language including Spanish, a plus.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with participants, partner agencies, vendors, BOEC administration staff, program staff, instructors, interns and volunteers.
• Knowledge of Windows programs, Microsoft, and Google platforms.
• Willingness to work in a cold & snowy environment with inclement weather conditions.

The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC), established in 1976 in Breckenridge, Colorado, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to expanding the potential of individuals with disabilities and special needs through impactful, educational, and inspiring outdoor experiences. For almost 50 years, BOEC has offered outdoor recreational opportunities, led by highly trained professional staff and supported by over 300 dedicated volunteers. Participants from around the world engage in BOEC’s Adaptive Ski and Snowboard Program, Wilderness Program, and Internship Program. Operating primarily in Breckenridge, Colorado, BOEC serves over 2,500 participants annually, including adults and children with physical and cognitive disabilities, sensory differences, veterans and their families, and other historically underserved populations.
